This week, the Restaurants Care Resilience Fund awarded grants to 484 independent restaurants, food trucks, and caterers across California. Since launching in 2021, the fund has invested over $11 million in small businesses. These grants help with equipment upgrades, employee training, and disaster recovery. California Republicans ask Trump to rethink his ICE crackdowns
Coalition of six California Republican representatives led by State Senator Suzette Valladares (Santa Clarita) sent a letter to the Trump Administration saying the ICE raids are having a negative impact on immigrant workers both documented and undocumented – hitting multiple industries hard in California. They urge President Trump to focus on deporting violent criminals. Excerpt: "We have heard from employers in our districts that recent ICE raids are not only targeting undocumented workers, but also creating widespread fear among other employees, including those with legal immigration status. This fear is driving vital workers out of critical industries, taking California’s affordability crisis and making it even worse for our constituents."
